📈 LABOUR BY THE NUMBERS
Recent Statistics Canada data found that 16.4% of core-aged workers (25–54) with postsecondary education were employed in jobs unrelated to their education or training, up 0.9 points from a year earlier, with the increase most pronounced among 25–34-year-olds (18.2%). Recent immigrants were more likely than Canadian-born workers to experience this mismatch (21.2% vs. 15.2%), largely due to a lack of available jobs in their field (41.9%), whereas Canadian-born workers more often chose unrelated work (56.3%).
